Light Gauge Framing System

Light Gauge Steel Framed Structures (LGSF) is based on factory made galvanized light gauge steel components,
designed as per codal requirements, produced by cold forming method and assembled as panels at site forming
structural steel framework of a building of varying sizes of wall and floor.

LGSF is typically ideal for one to three storey high buildings, especially in residential homes, apartments and
commercial buildings. Due to its flexibility fast construction and durability, this technology has great potential for
counties like India. Over the years, various improved systems have been developed for use in landed properties. An economical light gauge steel frame system is increasingly being used in America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. This light gauge steel frame is developed through a cold-formed process without the use of heat. This process enables steel manufacturers to produce light-weight but high tensile steel sheets. The sheet surface is coated with a zinc alloy that completely covers the steel surface and seals it from the corrosive action of its environment. This results in buildings that are more solid, rigid, stronger, durable and easier to build.

Steel is widely used in the construction of multi-storey buildings. However, steel construction is seldom used and is traditionally considered uneconomical for landed properties. In many parts of the world, timber, structural brickwork and reinforced concrete constructionis usually preferred for landed properties.

•  The complete design is as per International and Indian standards. Complete backup of all drawings including assembly and erection. These structures are completely flexible and customized as per design.
•  All the materials used in LGSF construction are fire-rated. The steel used for structure has a high amount of galvanization which makes it totally corrosion-resistant over decades. Also, fiber cement boards used for cladding are water and fire-resistant.
•  Compared with conventional Construction, LGSF uses very little energy both at the time of production and execution at the site. Steel Used for structure is 100% reusable and recyclable which makes it sustainable as well as eco-friendly.
•  The amount of time saved in construction using LGSF is a major factor. The construction process with steel, as it is independent of weather conditions and concrete is needed except only for foundation and sub-basement which allows for a reduction in construction cost.
•  Load Bearing Walls: These structures hold the upright loads of construction above or oblique roads safeguarding from the wind. Sometimes racking resistance is required, and it can be in the form of bracing straps or sheets.
